The R540 SPD-SL pedal uses the same shape and profile first seen in the 2000's under pro road racers. A rigid body helps transfer power and stabilize the rider's foot for fast pedaling response. Shimano's 3-bolt SPD-SL cleats (included) offer a wide and adjustable platform for an easy fit. With only 14.3mm of stack height, the R540 makes the rider feel more attached to the bike. Retension is easily adjusted with a 2.5mm allen wrench at the back of the retaining lever. The 9/16" chro-moly spindle fits all adult bicycles and can be threaded on with a classic pedal wrench or 6mm allen wrench.
