The lightness and strength of Trek's OCLV carbon fiber lets every bike perform better, but what about a fatbike? In the snow?

With all that grip where the rubber meets the road (or snow), a fatbike frameset needs to have plenty of strength to not feel like overcooked pasta, especially in turns and under braking. That's where Trek's exclusive OCLV Mountain carbon fiber comes in. An OCLV Mountain carbon fiber frameset adds immense torsional strength, stability and handling precision to the bike during hard turns and descents. As for overall weight, this bike might be several pounds heavier if it were made from aluminum and performed the same way! A tapered head tube improves handling and braking feel further. Adjustable Stranglehold thru-axle rear dropouts improve lateral strength at the rear triangle, eliminating power-robbing flex during hard efforts. The adjustable dropouts also allow the rider to alter the wheelbase up to 15mm, changing the bike's handling and mud/slush/snow clearence. Up front, an OCLV carbon fiber Haru Pro fork boasts a burley 15mm thru-axle wheel installation, adding a razor-sharp feel to the Farley 9.8 in the turns. Internal cable routing keeps the Farley 9.8 looking -and running- clean in snowy or muddy conditions.

SRAM keeps the component world on its toes with the introduction of their latest Eagle 12-speed drivetrain. Proven on the mountain bikes of Olympic gold medalists in Rio, 12-speed Eagle practically eliminates the need for a front derailleur. An Eagle GX shifter, Eagle GX Roller Bearing Clutch rear derailleur, Eagle XG 10-50T cassette and Eagle GX chain ensure precise operation and long service life. A Truvativ Stylo Carbon Eagle crankset with an X-Sync 30T single ring helps deliver power to the rear wheels, and is installed in a rock-solid PF121 press-fit bottom bracket. SRAM's hydraulic Guide RS disc brakes offer excellent lever feedback and impressive stopping power, rain or shine (or snow).

Trek brings OCLV technology to the Farley 9.8's rolling stock with tubeless-ready carbon fiber Wampa 80 SL wheels. Tubeless-ready Bontrager Barbegazi 27.5x4.50" tires bring massive grip and traction to the Farley 9.8, delivering confident grip in any terrain, temperature and season.

Bontrager takes another step towards adding lightness the Farley 9.8 with the addition of a lightweight OCLV carbon fiber handlebar and accessory-ready alloy Pro Blendr stem. Out back, a Ti-railed Montrose Elite saddle gets out of the way easily with the aid of a Bontrager Line dropper seatpost, complete with bar-mounted remote lever.

Are you ready to conquer the competition at fat bike races, or just have more fun in the snow? The Farley 9.8 is always ready!
