The Roscoe line is Trek giving a nod to those of us who ride mountain bikes because it's really fun, not because we have asperations to race them.

For plenty out there, a mountain bike should be raced, and raced hard. But the Roscoe 6 is just plain fun. The handling isn't going to let you down in the twisties, but it won't feel high-strung either. The fit isn't too aggressive, allowing a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable on the Roscoe. Built from Trek's Alpha Gold aluminum, the Roscoe 6's butted frame is a strong "backbone" for excellent handling and power delivery. A tapered head tube adds torsional strength, providing an extra dash of handling precision. Out back, the thru-axle dropouts do the same, improving pedaling response compared to standard open dropouts. Internal cable routing keeps the bike looking (and running) clean and sleek. All this might sound like what you want on a cross-country racing machine, but it's also what you need in a bike that you don't want holding you back when having a blast.

Part of enjoying the trails is not making a, shall we say, unintentional inspection of the landscape. The Roscoe 6 employs an adjustable SR Suntour XCM 32 suspension fork boasting 120mm of travel, bringing excellent control through rock gardens and root "fun houses". There's even a lockout function for traversing hardpan and gravel trails. Cool, huh?

Learning off-road riding requires easy-to-use components for shifting and braking. Shimano's 10-speed Deore rear shifter and Shadow+ Deore rear derailleur cover gear change duties with ease, giving you less to think about in challenging terrain. An FSA Alpha Drive crankset is equipped with a 28T chainring, simplifying the drivetrain and taking weight off the bike. An 11-46T cassette brings a huge gearing range to the Roscoe 6, helping to make short work of roller-coaster singletrack.

The Roscoe 6 employs tubeless-ready alloy Alex MD35 wheels with a wide interior width, keeping rotating weight low and allowing the tire to gain a better footprint on the ground compared to narrower rims. Boost110/148 hubs add lateral strength to the wheels for better control. Kenda's 27.5x2.80" Havok tires attack the trail with a meaty tread pattern. Tektro's HD-M275 hydraulic disc brakes help keep speed in check, even in wet and dirty conditions.

Bontrager supplies the Arvada saddle, alloy 2-bolt seatpost, accessory-ready alloy stem and alloy handlebar.

This is all you need to begin having fun in the dirt!
