Long distances -really long distances- over harsh terrain was what the Felt VR2 is made for, while making every mile just a little easier on its rider.

This is Felt's pinnacle road machine for your longest rides and hilliest terrain. Centuries, granfondos and randonneur events that take all day are the primary focus of the VR2. With a stable geometry, smooth ride and upright fit, the VR2 keeps the rider fresher for longer. The list of technology that goes into the VR2 reads like a wish-list: TexTreme carbon fiber found in F1 racing cars, Shimano Ultegra Di2 shifting, Shimano's hydraulic disc brakes, DT Swiss alloy wheels. There's no corner cut with the VR2.

When Felt looked at all the choices for raw carbon fiber, the list was long. But they looked at the most extreme of sports for inspiration. Formula 1 racing teams have been building cars from carbon fiber since the 80's, giving drivers an advantage with a lightweight and strong chassis. The best carbon fiber used in Formula 1 cars (and even helmets) is TexTreme. With a ribbon-style shape to the fabric thread, the VR2's frame structure can be constructed incredibly thin, even for carbon fiber! There is no loss of strength, however, allowing the VR2 to start with a far lighter frame when blended with Felt's own UHC Advanced carbon fiber. The VR2's geometry and fit are built around a stable feel and more upright posture; perfect for century rides, randonneur events and rough pavement with occassional gravel detours. A BB386 press-fit bottom bracket provides an excellent anchor for the crankset, offering flex-free power delivery. A tapered 1-1/8-to-1-1/2" head tube/steerer tube interface keeps the VR2's front end anchored well for uphill, out-of-the-saddle efforts. 12mm thru-axles front and rear ensure a more torsionally rigid "chassis" for improved pedaling response and handling, especially in fast corners and descents. Flat-mount disc brakes and internal cable routing keeps the VR2 looking clean. Even the fork is an all-carbon unit from dropouts to the top of the steerer, keeping weight low.

Shimano's recently redesigned 11-speed Ultegra R8070-series Di2 components are found throughout the drivetrain and brakes of the VR2, starting with the dual-control levers. An upgraded lever hood and slimmer profile fits a wider range of hand sizes more comfortably. The shifter buttons have a more positive "click", providing better feedback when wearing full-finger gloves. The long-cage Ultegra Di2 rear derailleur allows the use of a wide-range 11-34T Shimano cassette, allowing steep inclines to be scaled more easily. The Ultegra Di2 front derailleur features a slimmed-down cage, preventing interference from wider rear tires depending on wheelbase. The front derailleur even adjusts itself automatically when large jumps are made across the rear cassette, eliminating any chain rub. The Shimano Ultegra compact crankset is equipped with a 50/34T chainring combination, bringing even the steepest gravel-covered climbs within reach.

DT Swiss provides the tubeless-ready alloy ER1400 wheels, keeping rotating weight very low for easy acceleration. The extra-wide 20mm rim width helps produce a fuller tire contact patch for a smoother feel, improved grip and lower rolling resistance. 700x28c Vittoria Rubino Pro G+ semi-treaded tires add confidence on pavement and hardpan surfaces alike. A Prologo Scratch Space T2.0 saddle sits atop a Devox UHC Performance carbon fiber seatpost, while a Devox alloy stem and alloy Devox road handlebar compete this hill-conquering masterpiece.

A Shimano charging cable is included with the purchase of this bicycle.
