The Trek Stache 7 is a different way of looking at a "hardtail" mountain bike. For years, the World Cup cross-country bike was the template for so off-road many machines, and all the nervous handling and aggressive fit that goes with it. The Stache 7, however, is different. Predictable handling, a low center of gravity and mountains of grip provide a fantastic way to enjoy technical singletrack without resorting to a full-suspension machine.

The overall geometry of the Stache 7 is more upright than XC bikes, as well as boasting short chainstays and slacker angles. This allows the Stache 7 to wheelie and manual more easily over rough terrain and obsticles. The Stache 7's frame is built from Trek's own Alpha Platinum aluminum, ensuring a lightweight chassis that is also tough enough to put up with powerful riders and rock-gardens alike. The frame and geometry alone make the Stache 7 an Editor's Choice at Dirt Rag magazine! The Midstay right chainstay not only eliminates most chain slap, but also allows the rear wheel to be tucked more closely to the seat tube for improved handling and power delivery. The wheelbase can also be changed by adjusting the Stranglehold thru-axle rear dropouts, giving room for mud clearance or tightening up the handling for racing. A tapered head tube and PF92 bottom bracket improve the Stache 7's torsional strength further for better handling and power delivery respectively. Internal cable routing keeps the Stache 7 looking clean and sleek.

Helping to to keep the front wheel whre you point it is an air-adjustable RockShox Yari SL suspension fork. 120mm of travel make drop-offs less fearsome, while a 15mm thru-axle adds an extra dash of handling precision.

SRAM's 12-speed NX Eagle shifter and NX Eagle rear derailleur make gear changes lightning-quick and precise; something you'll need when attacking root "fun houses". An 10-50T SRAM Eagle cassette boasts a massive gearing range for tackling roller-coaster singletrack. Up front, a Truvativ Descendant 7k Eagle crankset sports a 30T direct-mount chainring for mechanical simplicity. Alloy SUNringle Duroc 50 SL wheels are tubeless-ready, making the Stache 7 very sure-footed on gravel-covered singletrack. Boost110/148 hubs improve handling further with wider spoke flanges. Meaty 29x3.00" Bontrager XR2 Team Issue tires bring bags of grip to any ride, adding to the smiles-per-mile factor.

A Bontrager Evoke 2 saddle sits atop a remote-lever-operated dropper post, while alloy Bontrager Line bars and stem finish off this outstanding machine.
