An "adventure" is a relative term. For some, a trip across the county might be the pinnacle of a summer of riding. For others, a double century on gravel with fully loaded panniers is only the beginning... For everything in between, the ToughRoad SLR GX1 is built to make those adventurous miles a trip of confidence and smoothness.

The ToughRoad SLR line is designed around a hydroformed ALUXX SLR-grade aluminum alloy frame. The tapered tube shapes and OverDrive head tube keep weight low while bringing a strong "backbone" to the bike. Loaded down with panniers and gear, the ToughRoad SLR GX1 is ready to handle paved and unpaved surfaces with equal ease. Rack and fender mounts bring versatility to the ToughRoad SLR, while an upright fit allows a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable. An Advanced-Grade Composite carbon fiber fork also keeps weight low while soaking up fatiguing vibration. The clever X-Defender downtube guard helps keep mud off your knees and dust out of your mouth.

The components chosen by Giant for the ToughRoad SLR GX1 needed to be just as reliable. Shimano's venerable 10-speed Tiagra dual-control levers and derailleurs bring precise operation to the bike, making gear changes lightning-quick. An alloy FSA Omega 48/32T sub-compact crankset and 11-34T Shimano cassette boast a massive gearing range to help tackle steep inclines while loaded down with cargo. Tubeless-ready alloy S-X2 wheels are wrapped with semi-treaded 700x40c CrossCut Gravel 2 tires, providing tenacious grip on loose surfaces and rough tarmac. Giant's own Conduct cable-to-hydraulic disc brakes boast excellent stopping power in a wide range of conditions, rain or shine. The Advanced-Grade Composite D-Fuse carbon fiber seatpost features excellent damping qualities, taking the edge off railway crossings and bad pavement transitions. A Giant Contact saddle, alloy Connect stem and Contact XR Ergo-Control road handlebar completes this expedition-ready gravel warrior.
