Some have lamented the loss of "real road bikes". The current crop of popular endurance road bikes have been derided by some as clumsy barges that handle a corner as easily as pushing a cow up a fire escape. Is the nimble, aggressive-fit, lightning-quick speed machine truly gone? Not this bike...

The TCR Advanced 1 Disc takes the baton and runs with it. It's a lightweight sprinter's delight featuring 11-speed Shimano components, a short wheelbase for nimble handling and a responsive feel with every pedal stroke. The frame itself is constructed of Giant's own Advanced-grade carbon fiber, ensuring light weight and impressive torsional strength. A PowerCore press-fit bottom bracket and tapered OverDrive head tube/steerer tube interface takes the TCR's stength up another level, ensuring flex-free power delivery during hard efforts. Yes, this is a bike built for speed! The TCR's frame shaping gives a nod towards aerodynamics, letting it slip through the air just a little easier than a classic round-tubed machine. Even the Variant Composite carbon fiber seatpost is teardrop-shaped, giving the bike better aero numbers higher up. The fork is also produced with Advanced-grade carbon fiber that is not only light, but also soaks up fatiguing vibration. Thru-axles front and rear add an extra dash of handling precision, while flat-mount brake installation helps make the bike even lighter.

The TCR Advanced 1 Disc's component list gives the owner plenty to smile about. Shimano's latest 11-speed Ultegra R8000-series derailleurs handle gear changing duties with pro-level precision. The rear derailleur's Shadow-style design tucks most of the derailleur's body out of the wind, making the bike just a tad sleeker. A Shimano Ultegra R8000-series 50/34T compact crankset is not only incredibly strong but also more aero than the previous generation. A Shimano 105 11-32T cassette adds a huge gearing range to help deal with challenging courses and day-long training rides. Shimano's 105 dual-control levers boast an adjustable reach, allowing a wider range of hand sizes to fit comfortably. Tubeless-ready alloy PR-2 wheels bring an aero profile to the party, and are shod with 700x25c Gavia 1 tubeless tires. Yes, we can set this bike up tubeless before you take it home! Giant supplies the Conduct hydraulic disc brakes, providing outstanding stopping power in a wide range of conditions, rain or shine. A cable-to-hydraulic juction box at the face of the stem simplifies the lever-to-caliper connection. A Giant Contact Forward saddle, alloy Connect stem and alloy Contact road handlebar complete this speed machine.
