What is the pedal brand of choice for pro riders around the world since 1985? LOOK, of course. They've been in the pedal system game for decades. Their engineers have researched and developed pedals to be lighter, stiffer, more reliable, and better-performing. This pedal is the best they have to offer.
Reducing rotating mass is the quest of every bike designer. When the limits have been reached on the bike, the pedals are frequently next on the list. Eliminating one gram off the rotating mass of a bicycle is like eliminating 3-4 grams on the fixed mass (frame, fork, handlebars, etc.). Every acceleration made should be done with lighter pedals to perform the best in identical conditions. By using Titanium in the Keo Blade 2 Ti pedal spindles, the weight drops significantly. LOOK uses extremely high-modulus carbon fiber in the pedal body of the Keo Blade 2 Ti for astonishingly low weight and rigidity. This also allows for a wider cleat platform with a stainless steel wear plate. The carbon fiber pedal body and ultra-thin contact platform allows the pedal's stack height to be only 13mm; the shortest stack height in LOOK's inventory. A shorter stack height improves pedaling ergonomics and bike fitting for the most efficient power delivery. Even the titanium pedal axle forgoes wrench flats for reduced weight. Therefore, an 8mm allen wrench is needed for installation. The spring in the cleat retaining clip has been replaced with a non-adjustable carbon fiber "blade". 16 newton-meters of effort is required to release the cleat from the pedal. For sprinters and short-distance triathletes, this is a very secure system for all-out efforts.
A set of grey LOOK Keo cleats is included.
