A CoMax Composite carbon fiber frame? Shimano hydraulic disc brakes? 11-speed Shimano shifting? Is this really a hybrid? Or something more?

Liv's newest version of the Thrive CoMax brings plenty of road bike tech to the party. A carbon fiber Composite frame not only makes the Thrive a featherweight, but also soaks up fatiguing vibration better than many race-bred machines. The Thrive has three sizes and a more upright fit for wider range of riders, and rider flexibilities. The frame's head tube is not only tall but also tapered, giving the Thrive a more precise feel in traffic and in fast corners. Internal cable routing keeps the Thrive looking sleek, while an aperture in the left chainstay for a RideSense speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) has no need for clumsy zip-ties.

The drivetrain of the Thrive CoMax 1 is ready for all-day adventures. Shimano's 11-speed flat-bar shifters boast precise operation, even under hard pedaling loads. Shimano also supplies the derailleurs, including a long-cage Shimano 105 rear derailleur that can operate across a wide-range 11-32T Shimano cassette. A Shimano 50/34T compact crankset is anchored in a press-fit PowerCore bottom bracket for flex-free power delivery. Giant supplies the tubeless-ready alloy PR 2 wheels and 700x28c tires, giving the Thrive CoMax a smooth feel and easy acceleration. Helping to keep speed reigned in is a set of Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. Disc brakes provide excellent stopping power for more control and improved lever feedback. Rain or shine, disc brakes are always a smart move. A Liv Contact saddle sits atop a Composite Connect seatpost, while an alloy Connect flat handlebar, alloy bar-ends and alloy Connect stem complete the cockpit of this thoroughbred machine.
