Our customers frequently ask for a mountain bike that hits the "sweet spot" of performance and value. This might do the trick...

The Fuel EX 7 checks all the right boxes when it comes to performance-for-dollar. It is built around the same lightweight Alpha Platinum aluminum frame as its big brother, the Fuel EX 9. A rubbery chassis with no sense of direction won't be found here. A press-fit PF92 bottom bracket, tapered E2 head tube, and Straight Shot down tube all enhance the Fuel EX 7's pedaling response and overall handling. The rear Active Braking Pivot -or ABP- suspension geometry helps ensure the rear wheel will grab ahold of the trail, even under hard braking. The rear shock's upper EVO Link resists torsional twisting, ensuring smooth shock operation. The Fuel EX 7's Full Floater rear shock mount allows the shock to respond better to washboard-style trails much better. Reversable Mino Link upper pivots allow the Fuel EX 7's geometry to be switched from slack and stable to upright and nimble (and back). 130mm of suspension travel helps take small hits to hard landings with equal ease. The rear shock itself is no pushover, either: An air-adjustable Fox Performance EVOL unit with a 3-position damper. Up front, an air-adjustable RockShox Revelation RL suspension fork also boasts 130mm of suspension travel. A Motion Control damper also fine-tunes the fork with a twist of a knob on the fork crown. 15mm thru-axles front and rear add an extra dash of stiffness for taking that perfect line through a rock garden. Helpful touches like a Knock Block steerer stop to prevent a dented frame, a down tube guard, and Control Freak internal cable routing to keep cables quiet over choppy trails.

Shimano's 10-speed Deore shifters operate a Deore front derailleur and a rear Shimano SLX Shadow Plus rear derailleur for lightning-quick operation and long service life. A Shimano 36/22T crankset and Shimano 11-36T cassette boast a massive gearing range for challenging climbs and precipitous descents. Helping keep speed under control is the job of a set of hydraulic Shimano disc brakes. Alloy Bontrager Duster Elite wheels are tubeless-ready, feature Boost 110/148 hub spacing, and are wrapped with 29x2.40" Bontrager XR3 Expert tires, offering confident grip and easy acceleration. A Bontrager Evoke 2 saddle sits atop a KS eThirty Integra dropper post, while an alloy Bontrager handlebar and Rhythm Comp stem complete this amazing machine.
