Looking for a rugged, full-featured mountain bike that doesn’t drain your bank account? How about a bike that fits a wider range of riders? The Trek Marlin 7 does both with a 27.5 Bontrager AT-650 wheels size for the two smallest sizes, and then moves to 29’er AT-650 hoops for the rest. An Alpha Silver aluminum frame keeps weight low and strength high for off-road trails. Shimano Altus 9-speed shifters, Altus front derailleur and Acera rear derailleur offer fingertip control. A Shimano 40/32/22T triple crankset and wide range 11-34T cassette provide a massive gearing range. Control on bumpy trails is improved with an adjustable SR Suntour XCM suspension fork that boasts a lockout knob for fire road riding. Bontrager XR2 knobby tires dig in for confident grip in the dirt. Keeping speed under control are a pair of Tektro M290 hydraulic disc brakes.
