Cyclocross is demanding, dirty business. The bike is asked to perform over varying terrain, frequently while muddy. The bike should be performing well so you can, too.
The lighter the cyclocross bike, the less there is to carry up a slippery hillside. Giant started with their own Advanced-grade composite carbon fiber for impressive lightness and strength, making the TCX Advanced easier to shoulder and maneuver. The TCX's crankset sits in a PowerCore press-fit bottom bracket for flex-free pedaling response. The tapered OverDrive2 steerer tube and 15mm front thru-axle adds an extra dash of precision to the TCX's handling quality. A new D-Fuse SL shaped composite seatpost makes short work of roots and bumpy courses as well. Internal cable routing keeps the shifter cables clean longer, and also allows for better grip when "suitcasing" the bike over barriers.
The TCX Advanced Pro 2 features disc brakes, eliminating all the problems with muddy rims and clogged brake calipers. The hydraulic RS785 brake calipers clamp down on 140mm rotors for consistant performance in wet, dry or in-between conditions. Alloy PX-2 disc-specific wheels are shod with 33mm Maxxis Mud Wrestler tires for boatloads of grip when descending muddy hillsides or navigating grassy hairpins. Shimano's 11-speed 105 derailleurs work in concert with a 46/36T FSA Gossamer Cross crankset and 11-28T Shimano 105 cassette. Shimano's hydraulic RS505 levers have an adjustable reach for smaller hands. An alloy Giant Contact road handlebar, alloy OverDrive2 stem and Performance road saddle complete this race-ready bike.
