Trek's Allant 7.2 is a great city bike, especially for those who decide that parking hassles and gas prices are just too much. A lightweight Alpha Silver aluminum frame keeps weight low for portaging and steep climbs, while an upright fit helps with seeing the road ahead. Eyelets for fenders and a rear cargo rack allows the Allant 7.2 to be practical for the daily ride to work or running errands. An aperture in the left chainstay has room for an ANT+ DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately). Visibility is key to safety, and the Allant 7.2 sports reflective graphics on the frame. The Allant also 7.2 features Tektro's Novela cable-operated disc brakes that boast uniform stopping power in wet or dry conditions. Shimano's 8-speed shifters operate Shimano derailleurs for lightning-quick operation in traffic. A Shimano triple crankset and 11-32T cassette provide a wide gearing range for hilly commutes (and heavy groceries). Alloy whees are shod with 35mm Bontrager H2 hard-Case Lite tires for a smooth ride. Bontrager also adds a comfy saddle, alloy seatpost and alloy 15mm rise handlebar.
