When the Giro Aerohead made its debut on the head of Australian TT champ Rohan Dennis, the racing world knew it was a game-changer. One yellow jersey later, the Aerohead MIPS had everyone's attention. The extra-long tail and claustrophobic interior of previous designs gave way to a new shape. With the visor positioned further from the wearer's face, the Aerohead cuts a more refined hole through the air as well as feeling roomier. Giro's RocLoc Air adjustable fit system features a one-handed twist knob, just like any Giro road helmet. The overall shape of the Aerohead lets a wider range of riders -and head positions- get more aero. 4 vents are connected to deep internal channels, helping the wearer to keep cool when the temperature rises. The wraparound smoke visor is produced by ZEISS Optics, ensuring a distortion-free view of the road ahead. With a clever magnetic visor attachment, the Aerohead MIPS is easier to wear than any other aero TT helmet out there. Just flip it up, and the magnetic docks hold the visor in place. Cool, huh? Giro started with the new Multidirectional Impact Protection System -or MIPS for short- when designing the Aerohead, keeping total weight low and interior ventilation high. If you crash wearing a MIPS-equipped helmet, it will need to be replaced. The MIPS liner does not extend the crashworthiness of the helmet beyond the initial impact.
Safety, aerodynamics and comfort can be found in a single package. The Giro Aerohead MIPS makes it all possible.
