Quick Overview

This trainer will help turn your off-season training into next season's wins

Details

Color: Black/Yellow

Direct Drive. That's the cutting edge of indoor trainers. Faster, more realistic response to a changing virtual playground makes every minute more fun.

In the end, that's what we want from our on-line trainer experience. That sense of realism keeps us motivated to ride longer and achieve our off-season goals. Because winter doesn't last forever. An electronically adjusted electromagnetic resistance system can provide instant changes to your workload, reflecting the virtual riding environments of Zwift, Sufferfest, TrainerRoad or Rouvy. If your workouts are particularly vigerous, the Hammer trainer can produce up to 2000 watts of resistance. How much is that in real-world terms? German sprinting ace Marcel Kittel can crank out 1900 watts (!!) to win a Tour de France stage, so the Hammer trainer should be able to accommodate you.

When you've got your bike connected to the trainer, plugged it in, and selected an on-line virtual training service, the Hammer trainer can respond to the changes in the virtual world by increasing or decreasing resistance at the freehub. If you're needing an ANT+ mini-USB stick or ANT+ iPhone/iPad key for wireless connection to your computer, iPad or phone, Cycleops has them available as accessories. Also, Cycleops offers an ANT+ cadence sensor for an additional metric to your power data. A realisitic feel is what makes the Hammer a leader in electronic smart trainers, and the precision-balanced 20lb. internal flywheel ensures a seamless riding experience.

The CycleOps Hammer Direct-Drive trainer provides a very stable platform for the most vigorous workouts, with adjustable fold-out feet and a 47lb total weight. A front wheel tray helps keep your handlebars stable when you're out of the saddle. The accuracy of Cycleops' measurement of rider wattage (+/-3%) combined with precison resistance control ensures every workout is as close to real-world as it gets. During multi-hour workouts, the Hammer trainer employs an internal cooling system to keep the electronics happy. The weight limit for the Hammer trainer is 300 pounds, excluding bicycle.

The Hammer trainer will need the cassette from you current bicycle to be installed onto the trainer's splined Shimano/SRAM freehub body. If you bring in your current bicycle (or if you need a thru-axle installed) we can help you with the installation. If you need a thru-axle adapter (12 or 15mm), CycleOps also has that as an accessory.
