The Trek Crossrip 1 has has a few upgrades since last year. Already a lightweight machine, the engineers at Trek decided to upgrade the Crossrip's frame to their 200 Series Alpha aluminum, adding strength while keeping weight low. The head tube is also a tapered, improving handling in fast turns. The overall geometry of the Crossrip 1 has been redesigned, adding a dash of road bike feel while keeping the stability riders need on unpaved surfaces. Mounts for racks, fenders and three bottle cages add versatility for commutes and day-long adventures. Internal cable routing keeps the Crossrip 1 looking -and running- clean. The alloy disc-specific fork features low rider rack mounts as well.
Shimano's recently redesigned 9-speed Sora shifters and derailleurs improve the Crossrip 1's overall functionality, with adjustable-reach levers, easier front derailleur operation and lighter overall weight. An FSA Vero Pro 48/32T crankset and 11-32T Shimano cassette offer a huge gearing range for steep inclines and hills. TRP Spyre C 2.0 cable-operated disc brakes help keep everything under control on the downhills, even in wet and sloppy conditions. The Crossrip 1 features tubeless-ready alloy Bontrager wheels wrapped with 32mm Bontrager H5 mixed-surface tires. A Bontrager Evoke 1 saddle sits atop an alloy SSR seatpost, while an alloy Bontrager Blendr stem allows the use of a compatible computer, phone mount or light (sold separately). Bar-top brake levers add an additional hand position for sitting upright in traffic as well.
Pavement? Gravel? Metric centuries? Hardpan? Grocery runs? The Crossrip 1 is ready.
